A Union Pacific engineering special running from Salt Lake City to Denver heads east on former D&RGW rails in Spanish Fork Canyon. The 6936, an EMD DDA40X is iconic to the UP, and looks out of place traversing the former Rio Grande, once a rival and competitor. UP 1989, the Rio Grande Heritage SD70ACE, works to maintain the livery of the Denver & Rio Grande Western.
