Remarks & Notes
A Union Pacific engineering special running from Salt Lake City to Denver heads east on former D&RGW rails near the ghost town of Thistle, Utah. The 6936, an EMD DDA40X is iconic to the UP, and looks a little out of place traversing the former Rio Grande, a rival and competitor to the UPRR. The Rio Grande Heritage SD70ACE (second out) keeps the memory of the D&RGW alive, somewhat.
