| It's 1939, and Soo Line's brand new diesel unit is heading over a bridge with a boxcar... no, wait a minute. That is a BNSF car, and this is in 2011. After Minnesota Northern's usual power went down with issues, the first diesel unit ever delivered to Soo Line had to be pulled out of the ILSX shop to make the run from Thief River Falls to Saint Hilaire. This line is a section of the former Great Northern route from Red Lake Falls to Warroad. I don't think anyone in 1939 expected this unit to move a revenue train seventy-two years later. |
