| For years mining has taken place in northeastern Minnesota and the DM&IR has served those mines by moving the finished taconite pellet product to the docks of Duluth and Two Harbors, MN where it is shipped to steel mills. Today the cycle continues as the DM&IR 403 climbs the grade off the CN Rainy Sub at Minorca Jct. heading into the Minorca mine to load taconite pellets while above the train is a 240 ton production haul truck that is working at the Minntac mine. |
