Since the Union Pacific removed most SD9043MAC units from coal trains, they have had a strong presence in mainline freight service. Here three examples lead UP's West Colton, CA to North Platte, NE east through North Yard in Salt Lake City. The Wasatch Front has received more than it's fare share of precipitation this season, and the flanks of Mt. Olympus and Twin Peaks exhibit that fact rather well.
