| For some unknown reason I remember this like it was yesterday. I was my first experience on the former NYC main line. As we arrived at the location and looked down a long straight stretch to the east, we could see a pinpoint of light at the bottom of a cloud of exhaust. After firing the shot, I stood back in awe as three U25Bs blasted by at track speed with a westbound manifest. I am sure the end was near for them, but they sure put on a grand show that day. |
