| Southbound Southern mixed train No. 5, the "Piedmont," passes through Orange, VA on Sept. 1, 1973, led by F7A No. 6714. At this point in time, No. 5 left Washington passenger only. At Alexandria, VA , it stopped and picked up 10 to 20 loaded piggyback cars. Northbound No. 6 reversed the procedure, dropping the flats at Alexandria before proceeding into Washington. |
