As a teenage youth, I yearned to be able to emulate the monochrome photographic results achieved by my elders (and betters!) published in the railway press of the day. I certainly didn't lack enthusiasm, unfortunately my skill, technique and equipment were woefully indadequate! Hopefully, my heroes of railway photography would approve of this attempt at the genre. I am surprised and delighted that a digital camera can deliver the goods just as well as the subject of the image!
