Southbound CSX No. 300 manifest slowly grinds upgrade at Hermitage Road in Richmond, VA on May 8, 1988, led by GP38-2 No. 2704, CSX's Tampa Division Operation Red Block unit. Actually, the train came into Richmond eastbound on the former C&O. At Fulton Yard, the power ran around the train and it ran back west to the connection with the former SAL near 17th Street Yard. It was running north on the former SAL at Hermitage Road when this was taken. At RF&P's AY Interlocking, the train would turn south and exit Richmond via the former ACL. Basically, it wound up running in a complete circle crossing above the former C&O route it entered town on several hours earlier.
