The Rio Mantaro Valley
Here is a special tank train on a line where such sulfuric acid tank cars would never go in regular service because there is no copper industry in the Mantaro Valley beyond La Oroya. However, as the cars were ordered brand new and they still are not used in regular service because the copper plant has not open yet, they need to run some miles from times to times so as to keep them in good running order.
The train is at kilometer 253 of the between. This is one of the many beautiful spots in the Rio Mantaro Valley, between Huari (242.5) and Chacapalca (255.7) on the La Oroya to Huancayo line.
