Remarks & Notes
M&O (Mobile & Ohio) Junction, located just west of I-65, was the location where the GM&O/ICG, ACL/SCL, L&N and Western Railway of Alabama all converged along the south bank of the Alabama River. Also, the Central of Georgia/Southern Railway routinely made moves thru the junction. At the time of this photo, the junction was under the control of the Illinois Central Gulf operator in the tower. When ICG pulled out of Montgomery, this junction was automated and the tower torn down.
