Remarks & Notes
The Portland Turn crosses the Delaware River between Easton, PA and Phillipsburg, NJ. Nearest to us is the former Lehigh Valley RR bridge which is no longer in service. The next bridge up the river is the former CNJ crossing which is still active as the mainline for NS between Allentown and the New York area. The train is crossing the former L&HR bridge that allowed it to connect with the CNJ. In the distance is the Northampton Street Bridge built in 1896 as a toll crossing between the two towns.
