| Central Virginia is well known for its ice storms. During the early morning hours of January 21, 1978, it rained and it froze on literally everything. By sunrise, the clouds and rain were gone and the landscape was stunning. I had worked 12-8 shift and the trip home was treacherous to say the least. That said, I couldn't help but stop by Hunton and bag a few trains. First things first. The best of the bunch was this short No. 105 led by GP40-2 No. 141. |
