| The setting sun highlights the exhaust of three SD40-2s, the 6824, 7038, and 6821, as they lug grain empties up the steady 1.00% ruling grade eastbound through Fisher River. The 6824 was the first unit of Phase Ib order 73601, built 11/73. The 7038 is an early Phase II (IIa1) unit, delivered in 2/78 as serial #776055-10. Whiteface 6821 is a Phase Ia2, built 4/73 as BN 6361, serial #72639-22. Just over 26 miles to go until Flathead Tunnel and the top of the climb. |
