Remarks & Notes 
Calumet Yard, on Chicago's south side, was the home of the last roundhouse built in the United States, completed in 1952. We were lucky enough to be on the scene on a busy afternoon in 1956. Inbound engines moved to the engine terminal to be watered, coaled and lubed before being turned. Here we see three NKP class S-2 Berkshires after being serviced.
