| Remarks & Notes |
| Dynamic brakes from a pair of GP39-2's howl and flanges squeal in protest as a "mine run" of loaded copper ore cars near the end of their harrowing trip down the 3% grade from the mouth of Bingham Canyon Mine into Copperton Yard. Here, the Geeps will tie onto a cut of empties and haul them back upgrade for reloading; several cuts of loads will be assembled into a 7000 ton train of ore and forwarded behind three locomotives to the smelter complex at Magma, a dozen miles away on the shore of the Great Salt Lake. This was a process repeated seven days a week, 24-hours a day since the first decade of the 20th century. |
