| It's lonely out there. The picture was taken from over a mile away. I count 98 cars: 3 tank cars and 95 covered hoppers. The potash hoppers would be empty in this direction. Searles, a few miles ahead, is the end of the Jawbone Branch and the interchange point with the Trona Railway which runs to the mineral-rich area around the town of Trona, CA. |
