| Belt Railway of Chicago Alco C424's 604 and 602 round the curve just south (railroad east) of Beverly Jct. on the Baltimore & Ohio Chicago Terminal Railway. They are lugging a heavy, 100-plus car transfer freight between BRC's Clearing Yard and B&OCT's Barr Yard in suburban Riverdale, IL.
BRC bought six heavily ballasted C424's in 05/1966. The 604 was built to specification No. DL640A and carried Serial No.3450-02. She was retired and sold to Arkansas & Missouri Railroad 604, later sold to Hudson Bay Railway 604. |
