Not your every day shipment! A pair of Soviet tanks long stored in Alaska are secured and ready for shipment south to Seattle. Their destination beyond Seattle was unknown (that's as far as they were waybilled) and what model and vintage they are is equally a mystery. I would love to hear from anyone with more knowledge of what these are and how they might have come to be in Alaska (it is presumed they were used by the US Army for some purpose at Ft. Wainwright). ARR GP38-2 2008 can be seen in the background toward the south. Note: the photographer is a railroad employee with permission to be in the yard and was wearing all required PPE while taking this photograph.
