| LS&I gators 2400,2405,2401 are heading west to Ishpeming after departing the yard at Eagle Mills. The area including the cars and locomotives is all covered in ore dust. At this point in time the LS&I and Soo had separate routes from here to near Negaunee. The LS&I route from this diamond(which then became Diamond Junction) to Negaunee was abandoned a couple years after this photo was taken. The LS&I-Soo(later WC) then shared trackage from here to Ishpeming West. |
