| Remarks & Notes |
| The Deseret Ry has but one siding, the aptly named Midway Siding, located about halfway between the Deserado Mine and the Bonanza Power Plant. Oddly enough, it is not electrified. In over 25 years of watching this railroad, I have only seen it used to store MOW equipment. In this shot, E60 #DPR-2 is leading DPR 3 & 4, two ex NdeM units, on a loaded coal train westward at Midway. This is a mid afternoon train and the shot was taken at 4:45 PM with the edge of a cloud partly obscuring the sun. This stretch of the railroad is oriented nearly north-south, almost the only such stretch of track on an otherwise east-west railroad. |
