Remarks & Notes
There always seem to be cars with families enjoying the mountains where Swarthout Road crosses the BNSF Railway mainline in the Blue Cut area of Cajon Pass. Perhaps that is why the railroad has stenciled their "no trespassing" warning directly on the rails, about every twenty feet, in this area. Also evident (on the inside of the opposite rail) is a heavy coating of grease, which reduces wear on the railhead and wheel flanges on this curvy crossing of the mountains. To see how this stenciling appears in a wider shot, click here.
