Almost on time, and running at 79 or 89 mph (I'm unsure, but it was at least 79, as we tried unsuccessfully to make ground on it after shooting), the Southwest Chief rips toward Trinidad and Raton Pass. One can imagine this scene, not long after sunrise, hosting Warbonnet streamliners, streaking across southern Colorado on jointed rail.
