Taking on the appearance of Chicagoland, thanks to the presence of a pair of former Elgin Joliet & Eastern SD38-2s, is Council Bluffs, Iowa. The two diesels are now owned by Canadian National, but they still wear the colors of their previous owner. EJ&E 656 was purchased new, but SD38-2 675 was purchased from the Union Railroad (URR's #53), which they acquired from the Bessemer & Lake Erie (B&LE's 879). With the absorption of the EJ&E and recent purchases of second-hand UP and BNSF diesels, the CN has become one of North America's most interesting - and colorful! - railroads.
