| An elegant solution for a difficult problem: From the powerhouse building on Washington & Mason Street, cables run out at a steady 9.5mph through much of downtown San Francisco powering one of the city's most famous attractions, the cable cars which carry folks up and down the city's hilly streets. Signs identify each of the four different lines the cables run, and in the background you can see several historic cable cars now housed in the museum. |
