Remarks & Notes |
Crews work through the night to repair the rail through the Wayzata derailment site. While having a derailment in the middle of a populated location could have been really bad, it made it really easy to see the cleanup action up close.
The train derailed at about 9:25am on June 30th as it was leaving the siding just west of Downtown Wayzata (Western Suburb of Minneapolis). Approx 17 cars derailed about mid-train. This coal train was heading from Wyoming through Minneapolis and north to Superior, Wisconsin.
Here is another shot.
