Remarks & Notes
Fathers Day and 70-tonners: Few locomotives depict classic New England shortline railroading as well as the General Electric 70-tonner. From the Montpelier and Barre to the Belfast and Moosehead Lake, the small switcher was the first choice for these railroads following the steam era. In 2010, few remain and only one is properly preserved on home rails - Belfast and Moosehead Lake No. 53, still wearing the red paint it received in 1981. So what better way to spend Fathers Day then shooting a classic 70-tonner with your father, especially on the very railroad he once worked for, with the very engine he painted in 1981!
