Remarks & Notes
Central Railroad of New Jersey #592. From the front, she looked like many other fine steam engines but a look to the side (HERE) and you realize this 1901 Baldwin creation is rather unique. She's a 4-4-2 Camelback engine, also known as a Mother Hubbard type with it's cab located over the boilder barrel ahead of the required wide firebox. This was a design necessity that came with the desire to burn cheap and clean "waste antracite" otherwise known as "culm".
