A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain had been falling all day, but the WC was still up to the challenge with this only on the WC fantastic lash up. 2401,6639,1752 and 3021 have the 75 cars of train SOGBA heading westbound up grade out of Trout Lake. The Ex FRV SD24's found a home in Upper Michigan for a number of years after the WC bought the FRV. No one that ever worked on them was probably sorry to see them go. They both had their own problems. The 2401 was doggy and surely didn't come close to its advertised 2400hp. It also was drafty and the front door needed to be kicked open, as it was hardly possible to get it open any other way. Most crew members just decided it wasn't worth the trouble and exited out the rear door.
