| LS&I 2501,2303,2304 are arriving at Eagle Mills yard with 120 empties. If I remember correctly the units have just clanked across the County Road 492 crossing and the engineer has cracked the throttle to enter the yard. The 2501 was the last U25C operating in the US and probably anywhere for that matter. It was quite the smoker and could be counted on to give a good display most of the time. The track in the foreground is the the lead to the out of service Pioneer Pellet Plant which LS&I used as a switching lead for mine runs so as to not foul the block on the line from the Dock to Eagle Mills. |
