Remarks & Notes
With Doyle McCormick at the throttle, the American Freedom Train has arrived in southern California! Engine 4449, an ex-Southern Pacific GS-4 class 4-8-4, has been restored to operatiing condition for service on the Freedom Train, and is seen here departing a short stop in Glendale, California, as the train makes its way to Pomona, where it will be open for the throngs of locals who want to see the historic artifacts on display in the train's cars.
