Progress of the City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah is well underway. City Creek is a 20-acre development under construction by Property Reserve, Inc. (the commercial real estate division of the Mormon church) and Taubman Centers, Inc. Plans call for open shopping and residential space, with foliage lined walkways and a stream. The City Creek Center is scheduled to be completed in 2012. Pictured, UTA TRAX car 1040 departs the City Center station straddling City Creek construction on both sides of Main Street. The metal structure above the train is the recently constructed 'Sky Bridge', designed to move people across Main Street along both sides of the development. City Creek will utilize space once occupied by the Crossroads Mall and the ZCMI Center torn down three years ago.
