On my birthday in 1985, I was photographing trains on the elevated Illinois Central Railroad right-of-way near Riverdale Interlocking in Riverdale, IL, when I noticed a long westbound transfer freight coming west on the Baltimore & Ohio Chicago Terminal Railroad below. I quickly set up and caught B&O GP40 4055 about to cross Conrail's ex-Pennsylvania Railroad (PCC&StL) "Panhandle" Chicago-Columbus, OH main line. The train will duck under the seven-track IC/Metra main line and enter Barr Yard, just west of the viaduct.
