| The D&S Valentine's Special was run the day before Valentine's Day since the Winter Photographers Special was scheduled for Sunday. Judging from the number of red cars, the proportion of passengers going upscale was pretty high.....gotta impress those Valentines. An afternoon roundtrip to Cascade tied in with a romantic dinner at the historic Strater Hotel upon their return to Durango. The big deal for me since my lovely wife was at home in warm California was the afternoon light on the side of the train at a spot that normally didn't get good light on that side of northbound trains. |
