| At dusk, Union Pacific No. 1204 leads the southbound Santa Cruz Local along the central California coast near La Selva Beach (also called Manresa). The March 2005 image was captured just moments before the sun sank below the Pacific. Sadly, the era of Class 1 railroading to Santa Cruz ended in December 2009 -- the former SP branch is now operated by Sierra Northern. |
