| A challenging hike high into the hills gave me a bird's eye view of the big curve at Troy. A short time later, 184 and its brother came along, belching out exhaust as they worked hard to pull the Chicago-bound Zephyr up the west slope of Donner Pass. The bright sun that day relfected off the white rocks and illuminated the shadowed side of the Superliners. Another beautiful summer afternoon on Donner Pass! |
