Remarks & Notes
Long time WW&F Ry engineer Robert Longo, pauses briefly for a photo, before climbing back up into the right-hand seat of No 10's cab. One of seven licensed engineers on the museum's railway, Bob's lifelong connection to steam power began in the 1950's, during a chance encounter with a New York Central Hudson. Since that day Bob has piled up the hours firing, running and helping to repair numerous steam locomotives, as well as stationary and traction engines -- all the while working in the industry and managing to raise three amazing daughters along with Sue, his wife. And railroading runs in this family, Sue's dad was a brakeman on the New York Central for over 30 years (in fact she sometimes wonders if that's why Bob married her!) The WW&F Ry Museum is blessed to attract such gifted and dedicated people to this unique corner of railroad history. Many thanks to Bob for standing still for the photo, and for agreeing to share it.
