It is not uncommon for the summit of Mt. Washington to be in the clouds even when the base is in sun. This rainy humid June day finds the clouds at the base. Undaunted, #9 starts its ascent the same way it has for the last 97 years but with the help of a Lempor exhaust, a feedwater heater and several other improvements to aid its efficiency.
