| The rare mileage special is actually between Buckhorn and Piru as it crosses beneath the mountains in the beautifully still agricultural Santa Clara River Valley (aka Heritage Valley). It is seen as it runs below Modelo Peak, which is a part of the Los Padres National Forest. Sadly, the track ends just a little east of here, although the grand through truss bridge over Piru Creek remains intact sans track. |
