Remarks & Notes
"On delivery", SAL GP40 #637 is brand new, dead-in-tow, enroute Hamlet Yard, NC from EMD to be placed in service. The GP40's were very popular with SAL crews and were quickly given the nickname "Jolly Green Giants" by the employees, referring to their bright green livery which was a major restyling for Seaboard.
