Utah Railway's IPP, UT to Wildcat, UT coal empty emerges from the Thistle Tunnels eastbound toward the Red Narrows area of Spanish Fork Canyon. It's hard to believe that in 1983, most of the valley below was submerged in what would become 'Lake Thistle' caused by a natural mudslide just west of town. The small white house (at right, behind the train) was situated for a time along the Lake Thistle shoreline.
