Remarks & Notes
Volos Station is one of the most beautiful examples of railway architecture in Greece.Designed by the famed Italian engineer Evaristo De Chirico,it was inaugurated in 1884 and for many decades, has been the jewel of the Thessalian Railway.Until recently, the station served tracks of three different gauge sizes...Standard,1m,and 0.60m.Here,newly rebuild Baby Alco A-209 in yard operations, hauls two wagons full of scrap metal.
