Remarks: AMP does nice work, don't they? This former Canadian American F40 is headed to roam southern Colorado and northern New Mexico. This is a road slug to be mated to ex CDAC 459: the first of three such sets to be delivered to the SLRG.

Is it just me, or does the Rio Grande lettering seem to be "unlevel" (if you will) on this engine?!

Nice paint scheme!

I understood that the former Canadian-American F40 had its nose chopped off to create the front-deck, did they restore this one? Curious which CDAC # it was... and what happened to the radiator fans?

This unit is now a road slug, hence the removed radiator fans. It still has dynamic braking capability, which is why the dynamic brake fan remains. CDAC did do "chop jobs" on several of their F40s, but not all of them. Some were meant to be chopped, but CDAC never finished them all. This must be one of the ones that they didn't get to.
