| This hardly-ever used connection track between the BN and ATSF at Galesburg became a strategic flood detour route in the summer of '93, as many of the Mississippi River crossings between Illinois and Missouri were out of service. Here a BN combo 151 & Q57 gets on the Santa Fe for the trip west to KC, utilizing the Ft. Madison bridge which was one bridge that remained open to traffic. This predated the Cameron connection. |
