| The ARR Coastal Classic heads south along the picturesque Turnagain Arm on a beautiful May morning; final destination: Seward. The train is replete with the newly introduced (for 2009) Gold Star car, now extending the Alaska Railroad's renowned first class service to the south end of the rail belt. I had the privilege of enjoying this fine product on the Denali Star in 2007, and with a private lower-level dining car, roomy executive class seating, a one-of-a-kind outside viewing area on the upper deck, and most of all, stunning Alaskan wilderness views, it's something everyone should experience at least once. |
