Remarks & Notes
This is about the closest one can come to replicating what it once was like meeting an inbound train to Jim Thorpe from aboard an outbound train. The second bridge over the beautiful Lehigh River Gorge (upon which I'm standing) has been converted to a bike trail and allows this most unusual view of 425's arrival over the river. This location now sees far more white water rafters and far fewer trains than it did in the days when multiple railroads with double track mainlines converged on the city. Please note: this shot was taken standing on a large step ladder NOT by climbing the very tall safety fence which separates the trail from the tracks.
