| A terrible derailment at Winegar, VA on the Clinchfield main in October 1965 resulted in a few days of detours via the Southern and L&N via Appalachia, VA. The first train---northbound overnight hotshot CRR 97---eases into Big Stone Gap to meet an eastbound Southern extra with F7A 4185 on the point. |
