| Remarks & Notes |
| With the towering red cliffs of the Colorado River offering a dramatic backdrop, Union Pacific's 'Potash Turn' enters the small yard at Potash, Utah. A long train of loads (at right) awaits transport to East Yard at Grand Junction, Colorado. Potash happens to be the lowest point on the entire D&RGW system at 3952 feet above sea level. For the sake of comparison, the Ibex Mine near Leadville, Colorado had the highest elevation point on the former D&RGW at 11,520 feet above sea level. |
