Because of all its glass and soaring ceilings, the new Berlin Main Station was described by one magazine as a "cathedral for trains". It must be one of the most impressive railway stations in the world. Mainline trains arrive on two levels that cross. In this picture three trains are visible, a Intercity (IC) train on the lower platform, an S-bahn train passing high above, and at the same level as the S-Bahn you can barely make out the red livery of a Regional Express.
