| Remarks & Notes |
| The quarters are cramped and the hazards abound as we watch the crew of Nevada Northern's Steam Wrecking Crane A go about the business of clearing a derailment. In front of them, there is rotating, unguarded machinery as well as a mass of steel cables under tremendous strain. A mere 4 feet behind them is a steam boiler on which they must keep a wary eye. OSHA clearly hadn't even been thought of when this 102 year old contraption was built. For a wider angle view of this operation, click here. |
